The Algarve is the perfect destination with excellent waves and fantastic surf weather. It is one of the best places in Europe. There are some beaches for professional surfers and some beaches for beginners. Let us explore a few beaches to surf in the Algarve:


This is a surf beach for beginners. You can surf the whole year around, with many wave conditions. There are a lot of surf schools over here that one can enjoy.

This is one of the most popular beaches for surfing in Portugal. It is for all types of surfing.  Here you will also find many surfing schools and many wave conditions. Watch out for the rocks though! After surfing, you can also enjoy a scrumptious meal as the neighbourhood has some good restaurants.

This is a really beautiful beach. The people who are not into surfing can still enjoy it. People can go there with their kids. There are a lot of restaurants near by the beach. The warm water lagoon contribute to making it one of the most unique beaches in the Algarve.

Monte Clerigo

The beach Monte Clerigo is set towards the north-western corner of Algarve, which makes it a very different place compared to the well known spots on the south coast. So it is not particularly for beginners. There are also some restaurants in the neighbourhood.
