Video Storytelling for hotels – Show, don´t tell!

“I’ll believe it when I see it.” For many businesses the best way to explain what kind of experience or product you can have is by using video and storytelling to make people really believe and make them attracted to the product. There is nobetter way to show your guests  what is like to stay at your hotel than by showing them visually.

Cisco estimates that by 2017, 69% of worldwide internet traffic is going to be video-related. This prediction, made by Cisco on its annual survey is extremely insightful for any industry that works with image, emotions and especially experiences, like hotels do.

Hoteliers must be aware of this trend and rely on professionally shot videos to make the best of this feature not only to attract new guests but also to increase the loyalty  with current clients.

Storytelling is about forming a narrative with images – from illustrations, photographs and video – that are effective, efficient and memorable for your audience. For hoteliers, there are many options to choose from: panoramic views, room images, local attractions, amenities, video tours, etc.

Social media networks are also evolving all the time and making it easier for you to show your own story in your own terms. And this is a great time to do it. Facebook has now included more space for images and videos that play instantly on your feed page. Twitter has a more visually driven outline than ever. Instagram delivers you a time lapse feature to create and make your videos more appealing and Pinterest posts are becoming more popular every day.

So why not take advantage of all the tools available online to you and your hotel and make it appealing travellers worldwide. Used right, they will be compelled to come and see for themselves and how great of an experience they will have just like you showed and promised.
