Praia da Marinha is one of the most beautiful beaches in Portugal, considered as one of the 10 most beautiful beaches in Europe and one of the top 100 most beautiful beaches in the world by the Michelin Guide, having even been awarded the prize “Praia Dourada” by the Ministry of Environment in 1998, due to its unique natural values. Besides this honorable distinction, it has still become the promotional image of the ‘Guia de Portugal’ distributed throughout the world.
This beach, located on the site of Caramujeira, in the middle of the coastal area of the municipality of Lagoa in the Algarve, has become well known not only for its beautiful cliffs, but also for the high quality of the water that allows one to glimpse the seabed with a unique visibility. Praia da Marinha has been widely used by international advertising agencies and television stations for recording advertisements.
In 2018, CNN chose Praia da Marinha as one of the 52 best beaches in the world, one for each week of 2018.
