Dunollie Castle

The Dunollie Castle is just a few minutes walk away from our hotels, located on a nearby hill north of Oban. From the castle you can enjoy stunning views over the island of Kerrera and a view of the beautiful town, harbour, and outlying isles.
It is believed that the castle was built in the mid-12th century. During its existence the castle was the target of attacks or fire three times, according to historical records. During the 10th century, Dunollie was abandoned and rebuilt in the middle of the 13th century. The currently existing fortification dates back mainly to the 15th century. There’s a beautiful walk around the castle for nature lovers.
